What Are We Learning in 2nd Grade?

Reading: . Unit 5-Nonfiction Book Clubs- Everyone has self selected a 2nd topic of interest to study and grow ideas with a book club. We are focusing on content vocabulary, identifying the main idea and providing supporting details, asking questions as we learn and being flexible thinkers- realizing that we thought we knew something, but learned it was not accurate- so we change our thinking. We will celebrate our new learning next week. We will finish the year studying Fiary Tales, Folktales and Fables.
Writing: Fiction Writing- using Fairy Tales as mentor texts for storytelling
Word Study: Last week of word lists 5/26. We will continue to study word patterns through the end of the year
Math: Unit 11 is Whole Number Operations Revisited- Double Digit Subtraction, Multiplication and Division

Science: Air and Weather
Social Studies: Community Helpers, Needs/Wants, Goods/Services
Other: Keyboarding
